This handmade photobook is a gift for my passed grandma.

 

At the beginning I just want to take pictures for saving more memories about her. Therefore, I documented a process from the beginning of her sickness till the funeral we made for her. At the same time, I was moved by the relationship between my grandpa and grandma.

 

With the deeper recoding, there are two things, which draws my attention. Firstly, the life of people was fragile. It would be more obviously when people become older. Secondly, what is the meaning of marriage for man and women. I heard some anecdotes of my grandma from family and church members. They said  she bore a lot pressures and made efforts with silence in order to maintaining the reputation of marriage and family. After that I try to talk about the marriage is like a cage for my grandma, though you can feel solid relationship between them.

 

At the end, we hold a very big funeral for her. As an innocence and humble woman, is a busy and noisy funeral actually what she wants? I have no answer. I thought this leaving for her is free from the contract of marriage. More important is that she can back to a hug of her god.
